When Will A Second Stimulus Check Be Issued
The government began sending direct deposit payments on December 28, 2020. Paper checks were sent out starting on December 30, 2020.
Payments are automatically sent to:
- Eligible individuals who filed a 2019 tax return.
- Social Security recipients, including Social Security Disability Insurance , railroad retirees, and Supplemental Security and Veteran Affairs beneficiaries.
- Individuals who successfully registered for the first stimulus check online using the IRS Non-Filers tool or who submitted a simplified tax return that has been processed by the IRS
There is no action that you have to take to get your second stimulus check. People who provided their banking information with the IRS shouldve received their stimulus checks by direct deposit. Social Security and Veterans Affairs beneficiaries who received the first payment via Direct Express shouldve received the second payment the same way.
The IRS sent paper checks or prepaid debit cards to people who did not provide their banking information. Mailed payments may be delivered in a different format than the first stimulus check.
All second stimulus checks were issued by January 15, 2021. If you didnt get a second stimulus check by then , you can claim your second stimulus check as the Recovery Rebate Tax Credit on your 2020 tax return or use GetCTC.org if you dont have a filing requirement.

Who Is Eligible For The Second Stimulus Check
Eligibility is primarily based on four requirements:
1. Income: The income requirements to receive the full payment are the same as the first stimulus check.There is no minimum income needed to qualify for the payment. Households with adjusted gross income up to $75,000 for individuals will receive the full payment. This stimulus payment starts to phaseout for people with higher earnings. The second stimulus check maximum income limit is lower than the first stimulus check. Single filers who earned more than $87,000 in 2019 are ineligible for the second stimulus check.

2. Social Security Number: This requirement differs from the original eligibility for the first stimulus check. Originally under the first stimulus check, if you were married filing jointly, both spouses needed valid Social Security numbers . If one spouse had an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number , then both spouses were ineligible for the stimulus check. For married military couples, the spouse with an SSN could still get the stimulus check for themselves but not the other spouse with an ITIN.

But right now, there does not seem to be much appetite for another stimulus check.
However, there has been another push to bring back the enhanced $3,600 federal Child Tax Credit.
When exacted during 2021, millions of American families received monthly payments of up to $300 from July to December.

However, Axios reports that the White House is attempting a hail mary to bring back an enhanced version of the CTC.
In efforts to get Republican support, Democrats might be willing to add corporate tax credits to a package.
Its unclear if this will work or if the size would be $3,600, but the boosted CTC has been a major part of Mr Bidens economic agenda and it could be his last chance to get it if the Democrats lose control of the House or the Senate in the midterms.

Hawaii Has Sent Stimulus Tax Rebate Payments Worth Up To $300
About 500,000 people living in Hawaii will see direct payments worth as much as $300, according to Marca.
If state taxpayers put their direct deposit information on their tax return, they will see the payment that way.
Those receiving direct deposit payments can expect payments first.
The payments are coming out of a $294 million dollar budget.
If residents submitted their direct deposit information after Aug. 1, they can expect to wait ten additional weeks.
Those waiting on a paper check can expect their payments by the end of October.
Single taxpayers that make under $100,000 and joint filers making under $200,000 can expect $300 payments.
Single filers who make more than $100,000 will see $100 payments.
The first payments went out on Sept. 6.
Another wave will be sent out on Sept. 9 and then Sept. 13.
Everyone who filed in time and chose direct deposit can expect their payments by Sept. 21.

Seven states are in the process of sending out direct stimulus payments to residents as Americans continue to struggle with inflation and the rising costs of food, gas and housing.
The federal government sent out three stimulus checks during the COVID pandemic. Now, with Congress seemingly closed to the prospect of additional checks, individual states are providing direct funding to address economic woes.

Delaware
Delaware began sending relief rebate payments of $300 to taxpayers who filed a return in 2020 with the money coming from a budget surplus.
Most Delaware residents received the payments in May though state government said they will continue to be distributed throughout the summer.
Florida
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced in July that 59,000 low-income families in the state will qualify for a one-time payment of $450 per child. The stimulus is being distributed via the Florida Department of Children and Families to residents who receive one of the following services through the department:

- Has an adoptive and/or foster child in the household
