This might happen if you recently uploaded your bank account information to the IRS site. If you enter the information before noon on Tuesday, your payment date should be available on Saturday. If its after noon on Tuesday, youll have to wait at least another week.

File For A Recovery Rebate Credit
Should you be unable to get a status update on the stimulus checks, there still are other options, like filing for a Recovery Rebate Credit.
If you didnt get the first or second payment or you received less than the full amount that youre eligible for you can claim the credit on your 2020 tax returns, even if you dont normally file.
This means you need to add up the amount of payments you did receive in order to determine the credit you would have otherwise been eligible for on your returns.

Which Of My Dependents Qualify For The Third Stimulus Check
For the third stimulus check, all your dependents qualify, regardless of age. This means that for each child or adult dependent you have, you can claim an additional $1,400.

How The Former Stimulus Check Portal Worked

To access the tool, you were asked to provide a:
- Social Security Number or Individual Tax ID Number
- Street address and
- Five-digit ZIP or postal code.
If you filed a joint tax return, either spouse could access the portal by providing their own information for the security questions used to verify a taxpayer’s identity. Once verified, the same payment status was shown for both spouses.
If you submit information that didn’t match the IRS’s records three times within a 24-hour period, you were locked out of the portal for 24 hours. You were also locked out if you previously accessed the system five times within a 24-hour period.
For third-round stimulus checks, the “Get My Payment” tool displayed one of the following:
1. Payment Status. If you got this message, a payment been issued. The status page showed a payment date, payment method , and account information if paid by direct deposit.
2. Need More Information. This message was displayed if your 2020 tax return was processed but the IRS didn’t have bank account information for you and your payment had not been issued yet. It also may have meant that your payment was returned to the IRS by the Post Office as undeliverable.

Tracking Your California Stimulus Payment
The majority of eligible Californians will receive their check via a direct deposit into their bank, which should appear between now and October 15. These checks were sent out from September 1.

The IRS says that millions of taxpayers have successfully used the new Get My Payment app to track their stimulus checks and, if needed, add their direct deposit information to get payment faster. So why are countless people complaining on social media that they entered their information at the app only to receive a frustrating “Payment Status Not Available” message?
In some cases, there could be glitches with the Get My Payment app itself that are preventing people from adding direct deposit information or finding out the expected date for their payments to arrive. Among other quirks, the system may give you a “Payment Status Not Available Message” if you owed $0 in taxes and received no refund on your most recent tax return, the Washington Post reported, because the IRS form gave an error message for people entering “0” in those corresponding spots.
The Get My Payment app went offline during certain late-night hours on Thursday, April 23, through Saturday, April 25, for “planned maintenance.” On April 26, the IRS announced “significant enhancements” to the app, though the agency did not specify which glitches had been fixed. “We urge people who havent received a payment date yet to visit Get My Payment again for the latest information,” IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig said in a statement. “IRS teams worked long hours to deliver Get My Payment in record time, and we will continue to make improvements to help Americans.”

Eligible individuals can visit IRS.gov and use the Get My Payment tool to find out the status of their Economic Impact Payment. This tool will show if a payment has been issued and whether the payment was direct deposited or sent by mail.
In certain situations, this tool will also give people the option of providing their bank account information to receive their payment by direct deposit. Information is updated once a day, usually overnight, so there’s no need to check it more than once a day.
Your Money Was Sent To An Old Bank Account
For some, the tool says that your money was sent but it went to a old bank account that is now closed. In that case, the bank should be returning the money to the IRS, which will then send you a paper check to the address on file from a 2019 or 2018 tax return.
Your payments status will be updated with a new date once the agency receives the money back.
Some people have gotten a new date but the message indicates the money was resent to the old bank account. The IRS says this was a reporting error that has been fixed.

How Are Payment Amounts Determined
The third round of Economic Impact Payments will be based on a taxpayers latest processed tax return from either 2020 or 2019.
The payments would amount to $1,400 for a single person or $2,800 for a married couple filing jointly, plus an additional $1,400 for each dependent child.
Payments start to decline for incomes above $75,000 for single people and $150,000 for married couples until phasing out completely for individuals making above $80,000 and couples making above $160,000.

How To Claim Your Money If You Had A Newborn Or Adopted Since Last Filing Your Taxes
If you had a baby by the end of December or adopted one youll be eligible for up to $3,600 for that child when you file your taxes. That includes back pay for the July through December advance payments and the chunk coming with your refund.
You should get that money when you claim your child on your tax return, which will let the IRS know about your household changes.

What Are Possible Reasons I Havent Gotten Any Child Tax Credit Payments
The 2021 advance monthly child tax credit payments started automatically in July.
